Moreh Oaks
Marshall, Virginia
project finished 2005
Moreh Oaks is a large house on a 30 acre farm in horse-country Virginia. The Owner loved the countryside character found in so many older Virginia homes, so Kris worked daily with the architect to produce an interior that created an established-estate ambience within the new construction. Kris was crucial in the initial conception of the design concept, stayed on through construction to assist with material selection and details, and remained on the project as the Owner selected furniture or reinvented rooms as their family grew.
Kris carefully considered each material selected throughout the house. From the color of the stone in the foyer, to the curved ceiling, and textured walls in the living room, all choices came together to produce the style living the Owner had envisioned. Kris can be credited for not only the interior concept, but also for many architectural choices, such as the large kitchen opens up to a hearth room with a raised fireplace, which adds warmth and light to this beautiful country home.
